IT COMES OUT OF NOWHERE. he should’ve been more careful, but his eyes were trained on the snitch. he didn’t think about the bludgers, but there are two of his teammates on the pitch to protect him so luke never really thought about anything other than the snitch. the SECOND the bludger hits him, he feels himself falling off his broom. he holds his eyes tightly closed. he doesn’t want to see the worry on his teammates’ faces, nor the look of glee spread across the seven members of the slytherin team.

the last conscious thought he has is about lorelai. he can hear the slytherins screaming, an excited yell as the injury of luke provides an instant win. hufflepuff’s backup seeker, kirk gleason, is more likely to fall off his broom than to capture the snitch. lorelai’s house is happy but luke knows ( as the ground is getting closer and closer ) that she is not. he doesn’t want to worry her, but she going to. he can’t bare the face she makes when she’s worried and luke already hates that he is going to be the cause of it.
